We were Credo customer, because we believed in the values they claim on their webpage, and we were very happy, as long as we did not have any issue.

We moved to a new place nearly a year ago, where we do not get any cell phone reception. We called Credo to inquire about their policy; they said that if we do not have service at home they would allow us to cancel our contract without penalties or fees. A year later, they still haven't done it.

Month after month, they kept running us in circles:

1. Customer service says they cannot do anything without technical troubleshooting

2. Technical support runs a bunch of test and ask us to tweak parameters in the phone, then tell us we don't have reception at home

3. They open what they call a "ticket" and tell us they would finalize it and contact us within 72 hours

4. Nobody calls us, nothing happens, we wait.

5. We call back, they say that the ticket is too old, and ask us to do everything again from scratch

6. They keep telling us that they need to perform "one more test"

7. Technical support aknowledges that we don't have reception

8. Customer service says we should have reception and send us back to technical support

Because the 2 teams (customer service and tech support) don't talk to each other, the customer service kept ignoring what the tech support said. I had recorded the tech support telling us that we don't have reception. Yet the customer service refused to hear to hear the recording, and kept telling us that they did not have any notes from tech support.

Finally, 9 months after we moved in, they accepted to cancel our contract. They said it would take 3 days, but made us wait another month, pretending to have lost our info, and they finally have us the green light.

However, a month after we canceled our contract, they sent us a bill with a $250 early termination penalty. We complained and they are now "reviewing" our case, a process that may take another month.

Credo is malicious. They boast having ethical and honest values, but they cheat and lie.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $250.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

CREDO Mobile Cons: Customer service.

Location: Santa Cruz, California

This is a disturbingly similar runaround as what has happened with us, going on one year since problems started with new phones/same location. The "trouble ticket", promise to call back w/in 72hrs, then no return call, requiring another call, holds, etc.

This is after being Working Assets long distance and then Credo members for over twenty years!

Their "social justice" doesn't seem to apply to individuals. Think twice before joining.
